A two-part self-watering glass planter inspired by terraced landscapes and the offset shapes of city balconies. The contemporary shape is designed for indoor planting, with a lower reservoir section for holding water, and an upper section to hold the soil and plants. The two pieces are connected with a cotton trailing cord for delivering water to the roots, using a sub-irrigation and wicking system that puts the soil in contact with the water. As the plant roots absorb water, the soil wicks up more, maintaining a consistent level of moisture in the soil.

Materials & making
The upper and lower pieces are both expertly mouth blown by skilled glassblowers into wooden moulds. The olive green cased colourway is achieved by encasing coloured glass within a layer of clear before blowing. The rims of each are melted, creating a finish that is smooth and modern.
Care
Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.
